Preowned Rolex DateJust Ireland

The Rolex Datejust has spanned nearly eight decades while retaining the enduring aesthetic characteristics that make it so instantly recognizable. The Datejust 36mm is an illustrious timepiece that carries a rich legacy dating back to its inception in 1945.

1945 The Birth of the DateJust
Conceived by Rolex to mark their 40th anniversary, the Datejust revolutionized the watch industry by introducing the world to the first self-changing date mechanism in a wristwatch.

1957 The introduction of the Cyclops
Over the decades, the Datejust 36mm has evolved, becoming a symbol of enduring style and innovation. From its early days with the distinctive "Cyclops" magnifying lens over the date window to enhance readability, to the continuous refinement of its design, the Rolex Datejust 36mm has stood the test of time.

1977 The Quick Set Date Function
Rolex further refined the Datejust by introducing the Quickset date function in 1977 starting with mid size and large models. This feature allowed the wearer to rapidly adjust the date without affecting the time, ensuring even greater convenience and ease of use. The Quickset feature was initially introduced on the Rolex Calibre 3035 movement, and later incorporated into the updated Calibre 3135 movement.

Movement
Underneath its elegant exterior lies the beating heart of the Datejust 36mm – the Rolex Caliber 3235. This high-precision movement, introduced in 2015, is a paragon of innovation, featuring Rolex's patented Chronergy escapement for enhanced efficiency and reliability. The movement reflects Rolex's dedication to pushing the boundaries of horological excellence while maintaining the brand's commitment to accuracy and durability.

The Datejust 36mm has graced the wrists of countless visionaries, leaders, and tastemakers throughout history. Its timeless design has made it a versatile companion for every occasion, from the boardroom to black-tie events.
In previous era’s worn by men, it more recently became a ladies desirable size. Now as men’s watches get smaller, the pendulum swings again and the remarkably diverse model is coveted by all.
It's a testament to Rolex's commitment to style,  craftsmanship and enduring legacy.
